So two questions i guess:

1. I have heard i can use verizon LG G2 on crickets network as long as the phone isnt blacklisted etc, just pop sim in and change the settings menu to GSM mode?

2. Do you guys prefer the button layout of the verizon model to the other models or vice versa? I am having a hard time find an ATT branded G2 but lots of verizon ones on craigslist.

Found one for 200 in mint condition the seller says, but its verizon and im just not sure, he says its unlocked but im gonna call ATT tomorrow with ESN and check.

1. Correct... although on the stock ROM you will get an annoying icon in the status bar that says something about "unknown SIM"

2. I've tried both, either is fine... I couldn't see an advantage of one layout over the other.

All recent (last 4 years or so) Verizon GSM capable phones are unlocked and will accept any SIM... I have put my Cricket SIM (AT&T) in my VZW G2 several times to test things and it works flawlessly. And if you are in an area where AT&T has Band 4 LTE, you could even get LTE service on the Verizon G2, if not you will still get a solid HSPA+42 connection.

Due to the annoying icon and the issues of a factory reset with a non-VZW SIM (it is tricky to bypass the VZW setup wizard), I would recommend going to a AOSP based ROM, such as AICP or something similar. But it will function on the stock ROM once you get past the setup wizard.
