    System Specs:

    Windows 7 32-Bit

    Phone Specs:

    Firmware Version - 2.1-update1
    Baeband Version - 2.05.00.06.10
    Build Number - 1.47.651.1 CL195459 release-keys
    Software Number - 1.47.651.1

So...I think I rooted fine. I used this link and it seemed to go great. Said done, etc.

How To: Root the HTC Evo 4G (Unrevoked Method) | TheUnlockr

Now, for the NAND, I'm using this link: How To: Unlock NAND on the HTC Evo 4G | TheUnlockr

This is where my issues start to occur.

Step 10...my phone detects the PC36IMG file and does it's thing but then says it failed because the main version is older?? So I reboot the phone and try to do the rest of the steps and on step 13 I get an error after hitting enter on the recovery.img line (last line in the shell) stating that there is no more space (I'm assuming on my SD card? I have a 32GB card).

Can someone help me? My phone seems to be working fine even after these errors, but obviously I can't get rid of NAND (what I need to do in order to remove the sprint apps?).

    Any help would be appreciated.

Do a Simple Root, only 3 simple steps and it does everything for you. You'll be done in no time.

Okay. I'll give Simple Root a whack. If anyone wants to reply to this thread with ways to fix my issues though, for the sake of other searchers, please feel free.

Simple Root isn't working for me. Ran the program, did Root, and it rebooted my phone into the screen where you have to hold power and volume down. When I do HBOOT USB (since it won't do what the command prompt box is telling me - which is to install the new PC36IMG file) it tells me:

    "No image or wrong image"

    WTF

EDIT: NVM, tried it again and it worked. This is frustrating lol.

EDIT2: Still got "Main Version is older! Update failed!"

EDIT3: Tried to just unlock the NAND using the Simple Root program and it couldn't move/create some of the directories because access is denied. But I can use ShootMe, so I definitely have root. WTF is going on? Someone please help. All I f'in want to do is remove the Sprint Bloatware. Phone still seems to be working okay and is the way I had it before running Simple Root. So it didn't wipe anything, etc.

    WHAT THE F***!?

I reset to factory 1.47 (using the RUU, HTC SYNC way above)...

Ran simple root and STILL got the "Main version is older! Update failed!" error.

Screw this shit. Guess I'll just have to deal with the Sprint bloatware. My phone is unrootable.

    try this:
backup all your files on your sd, and erase everything.
then start over and run simple.

I did. The RUU completely reset my phone. Simple still didn't work.

I think it says your main version is older because you're unrooted factory 1.47 currently and you're using the wrong simple root (ver 1 for pre 1.47ota).

    Try this:
    [Program] SimpleRoot OTA 1.47.651.1 Edition - xda-developers
This should downgrade, wipe, root and push 1.47 rooted rom on there.
    Choose RA recovery :)

Make sure before you start this, you delete all the pushed files in your sd card from 1st Simple root first (pc36imp.zip, mtd-eng.img, etc)
