I have had enough of this end of the month b.s we keep hearing. if Samsung have released 2.2 to carriers, why can't we just install that version ourselves?

I found this earlier and was wondering, if it's HERE for all to download, (under mobile tab, scroll down to GT-i9000, it says it's eur jpm froyo update) Can't we just install this ourselves?

I think its just the raw code. Not much use unless you know exactly what to do with it and i dont think its particularly straight forward.

Mattuhh - If you really want to flash froyo yourself go and take a look over at XDA devs. There are plenty of ROMS you could try. The only think is none of them seem to fix the major issues that exist with the phone.

If you are going to flash a non-final froyo rom, you might as well just flash a custom froyo rom that already has most of the problem ironed out.

You will need Odin to flash this firmware on to your phone.
