i've been sent (from a trusted source) a mobile phone application to see if it will run on a G1. Its come accross as a .jar file.

from email, i can't seem to download the file. so tried saving it to the internal card, but from the phone can't find a way to find it or indeed activate it.

    can anyone help?

First I believe the jar to be a compressed file ... extract everything in a folder on your PC ... and look for a apk file ... I dont think the ApkInstaller will handle anything other than an apk install file ...

I don't think Android supports normal Java apps (.jar files), sorry.
