Sitlet is correct. The Android OS is written in java to support programs written for Android. You can't just run a java program on an Android device, it needs to be written for Android with the same style and terminology. Android implements it's own methods, layouts, assets and resources based on the java language.

I believe there is a way, but it is rather convoluted. I had a Java app on my old phone which I wanted to install on my Android phone. I did a bit of research, but found it was a rather convoluted process. I ended up looking on the Marketplace and found a better app than my old Java app and installed that one instead.
