Maybe the update on VZW is just a few weeks out... is what I tell myself every night.

Verizon pulling up the rear as usual. They must buy into the tortoise's strategy hardcore.

Go for it anyway. I never rooted a phone until recently. Now that I have, I can't say I would ever not root a new phone if possible. And as for the why (aside from the "get stuff newer" thing), I think of it like this: Even if I waited for the "official" release, I'd STILL be missing out on all the extra things that some of the ROMs have built-in. I love me some Sourcery for sure. There's no way the official JB release is going to let me change my pull-down text, or soft-keys, or anything like what I can do now, without having to add a ton of other apps or whatever. And on top of that, a lot of ROMs are constantly getting updated, features added, bugs tweaked, etc. Sure, we might get an official JB push, but look how long it takes for the carriers to push out even the little updates for fixes.

I've had Jelly Bean on my Sprint GNex since mid July, I hope the new update helps a little with battery life tho, everything else works flawlessly for me

Nobody seems to have seen an update so far today. Makes me think this rumor is off base.

Still no update in Ohio. I was really hoping to wake up this morning and find the notification on my phone.

Nothing in Utah. Do I just need to keep checking or will it notify me automatically? I just want to know if there's a certain way I should be looking out for the update.

Jelly Bean is awesome. Everything is so smooth. It's like having a new phone.

Sure, rub it in for all us Verizon folks.

It is fantastic! Wouldn't say it's like having a new phone since the interface is almost identical (aside from notifications), but the speed enhancements are nice. :)
    Congrats to you Sprint folks!

Finally got it here in Colorado.
