Do/will you live in one of the major cities that will have coverage?

  1. Yes, I'll have 4G coverage in my city.

  2. No, I won't have 4G coverage.

  3. I'm not sure.

How many of you are planning on actually buying the Thunderbolt knowing it's on 4G LTE? I doubt Verizon won't have nationwide 4G for at least another 1-2 years.

Milwaukee is on the map for 2011 so we'll see. Hopefully it's before summer.

Washington DC has 4G coverage almost an hour south, an hour east and west, and 2+ hours north (Thanks Baltimore)

So I'm fatly in the middle of a 4G zone.

Already have 4g in metro Atlanta.

From looking at their coverage maps I'm guessing about 60% to 70% of Verizon customers already have 4g coverage.

The only thing I'm being mindful of is Verizon's statement about throttling 4g speeds under some circumstances.

what? Only the big cities have 4G, lol It may be 30% at most

Without the 4G LTE in my city I would not even consider switching to Verizon or buying the Thunderbolt....

Since the data plan for unlimited will not change, why do you view LTE as a downside?

PS: Your OP doesn't jive with the poll question.

I'm thinking the majority of the population and Verizon customers are in big cities. That's why I'm guessing the number to be higher.

Columbia, SC isn't a big city... no way...
But we are supposed to get it this year.
A birdie whispered in my ear that it's already in the works here.
    Hopefully by summer.

I already have 4G everywhere I go within my city, and my favorite cities to travel to (in the US of course) have it.

That being said, if 4g is not a price increase, why does it really matter?

Denver has solid 4g throughout the metro area and surround suburbs it looks like and I live and work right in the city so I'm good to go. Just hope it's better then WiMax which claims it has signal in Denver but doesn't work inside anywhere lol

I live outside of DC (in northern virginia) and work outside of baltimore so not only does my house have 4g coverage but so does my work and my entire commute. Its one of the main reasons im considering leaving the X for the thunderbolt

Here's to hoping Detroit (on the 2011 map) gets done sooner rather than later.
I would love to piss in my co-worker's cheerios.
Not only is he a die hard OSU fan (I bleed Maize and Blue) but he's always yappin about his ATT iPhone and it's internet speed.... I think I'll email him a speed test an hour once we get 4G/LTE....lol.

you can type your zip code into the verizon 4g coverage finder on their website and it will tell you if you live in a 4g covered area

I live in the Memphis TN area, North Mississippi actually but I can throw my POS Samsung Moment into Memphis if I wanted too. In fact I may do that when I pick up the Thunderbolt. LOL

Anyway, is there a web site that will show the intended time frame for 4G coverage for my area? I would like to see when Verizon plans to give me some 4G service.
