just got android but not sure...

I just got my chinese android and i press the power button it shows green and the backlight turns on but nothing shows also there is a vibrate when i hold the power button in do i need to charge this for it to turn on properlly or something?

do i need to take the battery out will that fix it? Also how would i start in taking it apart? is it similar to the ipod taking apart?
