    Hey good people :)

I just joined the Android club with my newly acquired Nexus S :).
Got the phone 30 minutes ago, just plugged it into the charger and went through the phone settings and such... I probably spent some 20 minutes on it. I noticed the back of the phone warming up to the temperature of a normal person I suppose (like the temperature you get under your armpit).

    Is this normal ?

My Nokia 5800 XM never got as warm as this in any circumstance.

And on another side question... how do you close an application in Android ? You can go back and leave the application but does that kill it ? I don't want to leave a stack of open apps behind. Maybe Android is intelligent enough to manage apps itself but I'm still quite used to do it myself like in Symbian. And how do you see your open apps ?

The Nexus S will get warm under changing and heavy use. It's normal and many smart phones do.

As for applications management, don't get bogged down in it. Android can manage processes perfectly well so you don't need to close anything. Furthermore, don't be tempted to get a task killer.

You don't need to close apps, Android is smart enough to manage the processes, and as MartinS mentions, you don't need a task killer either.

    Here's an interesting video:

You can see your most recently used apps by holding the (virtual) home key.

    Interesting powerpoint presentation! Thanks

  5. My Nexus gets warm from time to time when I watch movies via WiFi. I also heard that if you use a lot of 3G it also can happen. Did not try it myself yet.
