A few hours ago I was able to play around with one of the dummy Thunderbolts that were distributed today. The employee at the store had no problem showing it to me when I asked him about the release date, even though they were not supposed to because of the apparent delay. The device felt great in my hands and the construction seemed solid and well built. Unfortunately it was only a dummy so I can't report anything more than that. Now that I've had it on my hands this delay is going to be torture!

If anybody lives in the Wilmington, Delaware area and wants to check it out for themselves, just let me know and i'll tell you where you can find it.

I am so geeked about this phone man, you are one of the lucky few! thanks for the reassurance!
  4. OMG the super ultra uber spy Michael Weston use TB? I would love to use TB only if it was GSM based other than that it was my old HD2 or new DHD.

That all depends on how long they have been dead.....

Did the body of the phone feel like it was metal or plastic? (the battery cover is plastic of course but the rest of the phone is supposed to be unibody aluminum. i'm checking my local store tomorrow since i have a couple of friends there that i used to work with at CC.

the dummies might not be functional but they contain the exact weight of the device, and external material so the customer can determine if they'll like the phone or not. This cuts down on having to take one from inventory to put on display until demand dies down. or so thats what i was told when i worked with them. I'm very disgusted with this whole release date nonsense its torture if its something you really want.
i'm also going to ask them if the phone was delayed for sure or not, not all reps know because they don't always check there Intranet communications or do proper training, but hopefully i'll find out tomorrow, i'm hoping its still on track for release next week with the announcement coming Friday of its release date...

Unfortunately, I wasn't really thinking about any construction details at the time. I do know it felt solid, well built, and had a very nice weight to it. That's about all i can tell you.
