Just ordered the Droid X with an Aug 3rd ship date. Question

    should the update release this week already be installed ? Or will we need to do the update when getting the phone ?

    Probably not, im guessing they are not going through the warehouse opening the boxes and installing the update.

    Though as nice as that would be you have got to think about how much time that would take to do.

    I would guess that is why they didn't launch FroYo with the X since they were probably already in produciton and didn't want to change in the middle.

    Easier to have the 1000's of individuals to do it themselves... saves the company man hours (not a sexist term thats just what it is)

    Question - if so many folks are complaining about worse reception and other issues after the upgrade, would it be better to not upgrade, at least until froyo?
