Was hoping I would be able to use skype on it just as my Hubby does on his Galaxy S as we have family abroad - oh well too late now! and standing infront of a mirror is not really an option!

If a front facing camera was a requirement for you, did you not check the spec's before you bought one without?

Researching a product before you buy it is, like, neurosurgery, didn't you know?

I once bought a Ford Focus, and when I got home, I was disappointed it wasn't a Mustang.

Ahhh, that explains the discount I got on my home neurosurgery kit ... and my limp.

If you buy Android phones from shops, you have to check the specs carefully, for possibilities that it may be missing something you wanted. (That's what every consumer should do.)

If you buy iPhones from Apple Preschool, then you don't have to check the specs as Mr. Steve Jobs commands that you buy high-end stuff without reasonable prices, no changing service providers policy too (Only in US). :)

I fell for the same mistake myself, as I'm a Skype user, and also am part of the rare breed of person that actually uses Video Calling. I just assumed its one of those things that all modern phones would have (like Wireless, GPS, Memory Card slot, etc...).

Most manufacturers are removing the Front Camera now as it seems Video Calling is one of those features that never picked up, but I'm sure they will reappear soon to copy Apple's Facetime thing, and maybe to account for Skype

Lol, I gotta agree with the other guys.

If a front facing camera and video calling was a requirement to you, surely checking this out is something that MUST be done?

You can't really be disappointed in all fairness.

Hope you enjoy the phone for what it is.

Can I suggest making a voice call hands free, and sticking a picture on the screen of who you are calling, this has the same value as a videocall unless your getting ..cough.. Dirty!

I have to back up vickylou, I also didn't realise that the DHD didn't have a front camera until I got it. No big deal, but I kind of assumed that it must have one! and yes I did read the specs sheet.

What's wrong with the mirror idea now that there is no turning back? Face the camera towards you and look into the mirror to see the screen of the phone and make sure you are in the shot. That way all they see is you and not you holding a camera pointed at a mirror.

  15. What?! Haven't you seen the ad for Apple's face time? It's just like Star Trek!!!111

    ;):D

The standard in buying a phone is to check it first before buying. Even looking at the spec sheet is good enough -.-

Assuming isn't a good idea especially when buying an expensive item.

Totally agree with the comments-I spent a month on and off researching the phone before I purchased it-and I thought I hadn't read up enough!
    Great phone btw

mr vickylou is not responding to his our thread now, so you realised you should have made a proper check of specs before buying anything so expensive

Maybe it's better to close this thread since there is no reason to keep it open anymore.
