Longtime lurker. I often end up reading these forums when searching for Android info, so I finally decided to join the conversation. I had an HTC Hero for a year, and I'm a year into ownership of an HTC EVO 4G. I'm not rooted, since I haven't seen the need to do so, but I'm not afraid to install the occasional non-market APK. Let's see... I enjoy long walks in the park? Anyway, just a quick hello: hello.

LOL re. the "long walks in the park" . I have a co-worker that is still using his original Hero...(I also have a HTC Droid Eris--cousin to the Hero--that I still use everyday as a wi-fi device).
