Ok all is good. i would really do everything manually myself. Less chance of errors that way. you can use kernel manager to just download the kernel then flash it manually.

so if I download it using kernel manager will it go to the root of my sd card or will I have to do that my self?

Not sure where or what folder it puts it in, but it should download it to your card someplace.you just have to find it. I don't use it so....once you know where you can just flash in recovery.

If you use Kernel manager to download kernels, the kernels you download will be in kernel manager folder on your sd card
