Hi. notice a lot of people use SpeedMod or Ninphetamine kernals. If am on 2.3.4 build KG5, can these be flashed on top of this, and if so, what are the benefits??

If you scroll down to that FAQ section it will answer your questions..

    • What ROMs will this work with?
The kernel has been tested with VillainROM 2.0 and 2.1. It should in theory work with any ROM based on a stock SGS2 ROM. However if your ROM developer requires a custom initramfs for features you may encounter problems.

This kernal provides many performance tweaks and adds new features like BLN and the ability to overclock your CPU.

does that mean then that will work on a stock ROM, or is this just for use with custom roms?

Ninphetamine will definitely work with a stock firmware, and also with almost all based on stock as it uses Samsung's own released source code. It's worked flawlessly here on KG6 (VillainROM) and KH1/KH3 (MCR).

Still struggling to understand what these kernels do - are they basically used for under/overclocking or would you get other benefits from flashing?
