    Hi All,

Does anyone know if there is a Bluetooth keyboard case for the Galaxy Note? Or one that would be roughly fit it even if it's for another device?

I know it would be big. But I would buy it. It would turn it into a laptop in my pocket. Which I am fine with, I know it's big but to me is worth it. I can NOT stand onscreen keyboards nor pen-based input, for quickly entering text. There is no substitute for me for a physical keyboard, which is why I am still rocking my Droid 2 Global.

Anyone seen any Bluetooth keyboards and/or cases that could integrate such a keyboard for the Note?

    Thanks!

I have a ThinkOutside the Box Stowaway folding keyboard that works with HID Bluetooth conn profile..which Android 2.3 should have. It worked on my WinMo and on an IPhone 4. It even has a stand to rest the Note on. You can find them on the web..Amazon has some & I bet Ebay has them too. With It's case it is wider than the Note and maybe triple the thickness. I can measure it tomorrow. It is incredible to have for long Docs.

Thanks both of you. I am familiar with both products. I may ALSO buy the iGO StowAway, although it's quite pricey but I have read it has absolutely no equal. Best quality keys, and best method of folding up. I'd buy it for my (future) Note and my current iPad 2, and perhaps even Droid 2 Global.

However, this would be a different thing I'm asking about here...I'd like a keyboard case that would always be on the Note so I could always have a case protecting it and a keyboard with it.

I guess what I was really hoping for was a Galaxy Note slider phone. Ideally with a kickstand that turns it into a mini-laptop, with a screen that tilts up a bit. I'm so excited at the potential of a laptop in my pocket.

I wonder if it'd fit into a pocket like that, or with a keyboard/case. Maybe. I'd like to give it a try.

In the meantime I will keep loving my Droid 2 Global slider with its kickstand case.

Also on the other hand.....None of this would be necessary IF the handwriting recognition from the stylus was PERFECT. I've used the handwriting recognition on a Windows 7 tablet (Toughbook) and it wasn't accurate enough to rely on. I had to keep correcting it...it took too much time to correct it. I have a feeling it will be a while before devices have 100% or at least 99% handwriting recognition accuracy. I'm sure they will someday but I would guess Note doesn't have it.

    a) - I just watched a vid about the galaxy note that said it doesn't do handwriting recognition. I have no idea if there is a good android app to add that feature, but it's possible that the note doens't have the feature built in. I know it comes iwth a stylus... but I haven't seen recog built in just yet and he specifically pointed out taht you have to use the styles iwth the soft keyboard tapping or swyping and that no it doesn't do recog.

    maybe he's wrong though.

second - I too want a keybocase like you're taling about. I want a true laptop in my pocket. I'd give the ipad to the kids in that case (ipads are better for kids anyhow with great multimedia and games available, for a power user android is much better, speaking for extensive experience with both).

I tried the Note at the AT&T store the other day and it does have handwriting recognition. Seems to work fairly well.
If it had a keyboard I would have bought it on the spot. Why don't they make high end keyboard phones????

I'm glad to see someone else who likes keyboards and a big screen!

I actually just visited an AT&T store a few days ago. I loved the Note. It was a tad bigger than I expected, and it was nuts when I held it up to my face. But whatever, it would work, it's only an extra half an inch over most phones these days. And I'd probably get a Bluetooth and leave it in my pocket a lot anyway.

Having a keyboard case with this thing would make it a SICK mini-laptop. I already find myself using my Droid 2 instead of my MacBook sometimes, since it's just so convenient. And I can use my voice to Search and command it.

Well if such a thing never comes out.. I guess I might wait to see if someone makes a keyboard case for a Samsung Galaxy S III or Samsung in fact makes a QWERTY keyboard version of the Samsung Galaxy S III. But the Notes' S- Pen is pretty cool. Anyone who has not checked out the Note yet, check it out if you're in an AT&T store sometime!

I would love to find a custom fit keyboard for Galaxy note.

Right now I have been using the verbatim BT keyboard which is foldable and works really well, (In fact I am writing this blog using the verbatime keyboard).

Looking for a combo case-keyboard along the lines of what has been released for the IPhone.

Do you think Samsung realizes how many sales they are missing because they don't make a high end keyboard phone? I kept my old Rhodium for years because no high end phones ever seem to come out with keyboards. What's with all AT&T's quick messaging phones? All but one of them have keyboards. I would pay an extra $100 for a Note with a keyboard. The stylus is great but the handwriting recognition software isn't even smart enough to know that every word in a sentence shouldn't start with a capitol letter.

They have to be careful though, from a marketing point of view that is. They didn't want to launch a mini laptop, it was a crossover from phone to tablet. Stick a keyboard on it and it just becomes another phone/ laptop. I know it's each to their own but I've never understood how people prefer physical keyboards on their phones.... If you have alot to write, use a laptop or PC, if you are just "faffing about" on the internet, then a tab/phone with a responsive touch screen keyboard is fine. If I have a long journey to make, I take the cruiser, not the sports car. It's easier than looking for a comfortable sports car and it'll get the job done, maybe not as fancy, but accurate.
The swype type keyboards are immense and I found that taking a few weeks to familiarise myself with it was much better than going on a pointless quest to find a big phone with a physical keyboard. Just my opinion mind ;)

VicDude I tried like Swype, I really did. On screen keyboards are not for me.

I will only buy a phone with a slide keyboard, or, if it's awesome enough and there is an available keyboard case. Like how iPhone has a keyboard case or Galaxy S.

I tried a note at AT&T and loved it. But unless/until there is a keyboard for either the Note or the Galaxy III....I won't buy. I'll wait. Until then, I will make do with my Droid 2 and perhaps buy a Droid 5 or 4 "Maxx" or whatever they call it. (Droid 4 I can not stand because of it's awful, awful screen...I can wait.. If it had a good screen I'd have bought Droid 4 in a second..)

Keyboard lovers unite! I can type without looking. That lets me type faaaaaaast. Loooove the keyboard.

I stumbled upon this listing when searching for a keyboard case for my Verizon galaxy nexus. It would be very cool if we could have one.

My phone before this was also a droid 2. Just as I was preparing to return this device, google has an app sale. They offered SwiftKey for ten cents. The application is amazing. There's a month free trial and you should check it out. I am a big guy with ginormous hands and this keyboard rocks. It actually morphs the keyboard for better correction, even though you can't see it. It also starts to predict the next word you are typing.

There is one available out there search on Amazon/ebay. But I don't think its what your really looking for! It looks a bit clunky! Can't believe there are not loads of these out there. It would make the note a really powerful tool.

I can only agree with everyone else where are the slides? HTC Desire z still does it for me. If you have to do a lot of emails on the go and have big fingers like me a slide is essential!

This thread is quite old now, so this post may be irrelevant, but I currently have a Nokia E7 - a smart phone with a querty keyboard. I stand by the fact that it was one of the best phones on the market a year and a half ago when it came out, not only for the fact that it has a keyboard! The specs and screens have evolved since then and I am due an up-grade, but hate touch-screen only phones. Really like the look of the Galaxy Note II, which is out in October, but wanted a case with keyboard to make it viable.

Had a quick look and there are some inexpensive options out there: New 5.3'' Plastic Bluetooth Keyboard 360 Degree Rotator for Samsung Galaxy Note free shipping-in Keyboard Covers from Computer & Networking on Aliexpress.com
Freeshipping Keyboard case for Samsung Galaxy Note bluetooth 2.0-in Tablet Covers & Cases from Computer & Networking on Aliexpress.com
Rotate Leather Bluetooth Keyboard Case & pouch for Samsung Galaxy note i9220 on eBay!
2 in 1 Bluetooth Keyboard + 360 Degree Rotation Leather Case for Samsung Galaxy Note / i9220
Mini Bluetooth Keyboard Case - Samsung Galaxy Note

Any suggestions (and what about the phone?)

    Thanks :D
