I wondered if there was ever going to be a solution for typing on my smartwatch. Do you think Funkey6 might be it?

Why would you have such idea?
Can't you type on your watch screen? What do you want to type on it?a website,a text or any other.
If you realize that connecting to keyboard there isno convenience any more.
You can use your phone instead your watch in some typing cases. That is the watch works, alerts you and you can solve it by using your phone.

If the smart-watch has Bluetooth, could one pair and use a BT keyboard with it?

Maybe you need an antenna to receive the signal.

In the realm of smartwatch input, this is pretty awesome; in the realm of practicality, I'll just pull out my freaking phone.

Yeah,it's not practical,I won't type on this tiny screen more, neither use a phone to help it.
If I have time to connect the phone, why not just use the phone to do the typing.

I could use that keyboard if I had a smartwatch. I've got nimble fingers. :)
