Unfortunately, I decided to accept the upgrade for my Nexus 7 (2013) to 4.4 yesterday. After the update, several apps stopped working (e.g., Pac-12 Now), but worse, the new "locations" feature completed broke my GPS. GPS status could not get any lock and Google maps would not work (also, Yelp and Tripadvisor).

After a lot of hassle, I was able to restore the tablet back to 4.3 (JSS15J) using the Nexus Root Toolkit. The problem is that that tablet immediately downloaded 4.4 again and keeps bugging me to update (which I am not going to do until they fix KitKat).

    1) Any way to get the older OTA's for 4.3 (i.e., JSS15R)?

    2) Any way to get it to stop bugging me about 4.4?

That is really bad news. I was pretty sure I had tested my nav app after the 4.4 download, but it is not working now. GPS Test shows no satellites found. I have a road trip coming up and was planning to use my nav app - Sygic. I'll keep an eye on this thread and go back to 4.3 if there is a reliable way.

My GPS works fine on 4.4, so it's not a universal thing. Try a data wipe?

My GPS still seems to be working fine after the upgrade.

Gas Buddy could not find my location. I went to settings | apps | gps test and selected clear data. It still finds zero satellites. I REALLY don't want to have to do a factory reset to get back to 4.3. Is there another way?

The Nexus Root Toolkit did allow me to restore but only after many repeated tries. Unfortunately, the one that finally did work (probably by accident), was the JSS15J version and there have been two updates since (JSS15Q and JSS15R). JSS15R was the version I was on before the update to 4.4 (KRT16S) yesterday. I don't think there is any way to get JSS15R via OTA now that 4.4 is out. I'm not sure I want to try another re-flash using the toolkit.

Anyhow, my GPS is now just fine after going back to 4.3.
