Try a factory reset, if that doesnt work and you can replicate it easily, get it exchanged. Havent had any random reboots (mine is stock, locked and not rooted).

With the exception of Netflix, my Galaxy Nexus will not play any other videos, including ones that can be streamed via apps such as Crackle, PlayOn, etc.

Did anybody ever really address the inquiries regarding slow transfer speed? The lead post suggests trying replugging it, but my experiences mirror users a few page back - it doesn't matter how I transfer, wire or wireless, airdroid, samba, sshd, etc. Transfer speeds are always painfully slow - about 1.5 MB/sec max, with frequent stalling. I find it hard to believe samsung would install such a pitiful memory interface in this device such that saving to disk is slower than the LTE signal that drives it.

Edit: of course, one more try and I was able to get at least somewhat better speeds out of MTP (6MB/sec), and I also decided to try direct transfer from a USB device with StickMount and did even better (9MB/sec) - and that may have been a limitation of the device, I need to try it with a better drive. So clearly my initial problems on the wire and continued slowness over wireless (802.11n or g) are not a memory limitation. I think for the moment carrying the cable and a flash drive with me might not be such a bad idea. It's a good way to do backups anyway.

I had poor transfer speeds as well until I switched to a different USB cable. All of them are quick and no hangs now.

I'm wondering if I should exchange my device while I still can. I didn't really notice this during my first week or so with the phone since I was off work and at home for nearly every minute of the week... but my battery is absolutely atrocious. Now, believe me... I've seen the many posts on here about a bad battery, etc. But this has to take the cake.

Pulled the device off the charger and my circle battery widget showed 93% charged. Went out on the balcony to smoke a cigarette. Played Words With Friends or whatever it's called for no more than 8 minutes or so... by the time I got back inside (it was cold, I promise it wasn't very long) my battery was down to 68%. In 8 minutes...

Now, that was with NFC off, GPS off and Auto-Brightness on. But, even since then I've taken more precautions to try and conserve battery, including a task killer (which helped a bit), altering WiFi settings, turning off live wallpaper, and reducing the amount of widgets I used. Battery life has increased a tad, but I'd still go as far as saying it'd last about an hour off the charger if in use. Maybe 3 hours if not used as much.

Should I take it back? Live with it? Buy an extended battery (which I've heard isn't very "extended")? Please help, this is a little more extreme than most battery issues I've heard.

WWF is a notorious battery eater.

That doesn't sound that outlandish to me.

There is definitely something wrong, my GN goes for 20 hrs with
a LOT of use. I estimate it will run for up to 40-48hrs with total savings on...

The phone does not function properly when the memory is full. Constant freezes/reboots. Took 20 tries to finally get in and delete the large file.

To replicate, fill free space (leave camcorder running until it fills up).

Do you have 4G on? I turned that off and it seems to have at least doubled in battery life (which is great, but it's still dead in 5-6 hours with moderate use). All of my other settings are fairly conservative when it comes to battery life. I'm trying to avoid taking it back, but will do so if it means correcting this issue. I'm just not positive if it's a phone-specific issue.

At least define "a LOT" with a screen-on time. If you are getting 20 h, I can't believe your screen is on for more than about 30-45 min or so. Screen shots of discharge curves and screen on times should always accompany claims such as this when so many people are barely getting through a work day or less with this phone, otherwise you are making people paranoid without just cause.

I do not have the 4G version. I can empty the battery in 5 to 6 hrs
with light on full , wifi on and continous use. But most of ghe time
light is on auto. The screenlight is the main consumer.

I was one of the unlucky ones that had exchange issues. It was absolutely gobbling data down, but still not working.

I switched to touchdown, dumped the exchange account and my screen now appears like most of the others on the battery use graph.

I've gotten close to a day and a half off charger now. Before, it ran dry in 2 1/2 hours just driving down the road, while exchange was trying to sync

    Just a thought.

I searched for this all over but couldn't find an answer.

Is there a way to use music control when the phone is locked? For example, I would like to listen to pandora, and if I want to skip a song I don't want to have to unlock my phone, but when I press the power button the screen automatically goes to face unlock and no music control buttons appear. Can anyone help?

There's a LONG lag when I try to use the lock screen controls for Google Music. If I click pause or next or anything, a good 20-30 seconds will go by before anything happens. A widget on my home screen works instantly, but the lockscreen controls are very laggy for me.

Only found one report of the same issue. Some guy posted a video on YouTube: Galaxy Nexus Music App Lock Screen Issue - YouTube

Anyone else having this issue? Anyone have a resolution?

I have a VZW GNex if that matters.

EDIT: just as a note, the lag in the video is only a few seconds, and seems to only happen for the first button push, and is fine after that. Mine is worse; it takes longer, and it's persistent for subsequent button presses.

Just a quick add to this. First I have not seen any issues myself although I just got the phone and have not transfered a lot of files yet. Second I due use a Mac, I understand most people do use windows but if you go to samsungs website you can download android file transfer app. which seems to work flawless. Hopefully this helps someone.

I'm having the same issue. Goes back to normal immediatelty after restart, but quickly (within an hour) goes back to laggy (at least 5sec latency). Playing downloaded content, 50% RAM free when doing this, plenty of storage.

Do you have a link for this app? I checked the website and as far as I could find no such app exists. It says apps for mobile phones coming soon

I will need to do some more investigating and post again, but.
Today, I had two "connected as media device, blah blah" usb notifications at once!
Restarting the phone didnt work. Disconnecting the USB got rid of one of the notifications but the other one remained.

The only way to get it back to normal was enable usb debugging then restart the phone with the cable unplugged. Some other threads mention similar issues with other phones but my solution hadn't worked for most people and there didn't seem to be any mention of it happening to a Nexus either. I am on 4.0.1 (no OTA for 4.0.2 yet >_< for me, but I'll sort that later or get 4.0.3 when it appears).

Now to see if I can recreate the problem...
