Don't know if its been mentioned... Has anyone experienced where the phone's screen becomes unresponsive on the lock screen? (I hit the power button, screen came on, I went to slide unlock and it wouldn't recognize the fact I was touching the screen. So I held down the power button for reboot, still no response. So i had to do a battery pull) Also, right after that happened, I had no cellular connection (Voice or Data) for a couple minutes. Eventually it came back on.

    Anyone else experience this?

^^^ Actually yes, same thing happened to me yesterday for the first time since getting the GNex 12/20. Hoping it was a one-time fluke. Didn't experience the connection issue tho.

So this has happened to me and others on XDA as well:

Symptoms: You can't hear people on a phone call, and they can't hear you. Also, no "media" sounds work - pretty much any sound made by an app (but the ringer, notification, and alarms still make sound). Also, the phone can't hear you via Google Voice Actions.

Problem: The phone thinks that a headphone (with a mic) has been plugged in. If you're familiar with Tasker, you can have Tasker alert you when headphones are plugged in and you'll see the notification go on/off several times a day.

To reproduce: I don't think you can do this - it's likely a short in the phone by the headphone sensor.

The fix: Various - some report a battery pull fixes it, others say cleaning the mic, and others say a full wipe. For me, a full factory reset did not work. I re-flashed everything to stock images, unlocked/relocked bootloader, and even played with other ROMs once I realized I'd be returning the thing. I'm now waiting on my refurbed unit (I already exchanged my Nexus once due to a stuck pixel, VZW won't give me another new one). Also, there are apps that will reset the headphone sensor via software, which has limited success.

I just wanted to post this because there are so many symptoms it can easily lead you down the wrong path. But if all media sounds don't work, or your speakerphone cuts in and out, this is probably your problem.

For me the issue no.2 is very realistic.
The nexus has connectivity problems. The network signal keeps on breaking.
My data usage plan is very good but i cant use it because i'm not getting the exact speed, as my data plan. the speed seems to be much poor than 2g.
My PC sometimes does not recognize the nexus and after trying for 3 to 5 times it does get searched and connected.
So i think nexus has connectivity problems.

I noticed this today on my week old GNex, plugged into my car charger then 3.5mm audio out jack to my cars input jack and playing Slacker radio, unplugged it from the car charger because i was hearing the alternator whine through the car speakers (never heard this before with same charger and DroidX ), and i lose almost all audio, i can literally hear my left and rear speakers cut out and only get audio through my right front door speaker, plug the charger back in and walla, i have sound all around...plays fine with the included headphones as well and on speakerphone...

nevermind, darned jack was not all the way in on the stereo side....

    Transfer speed slow...

Try switching to USB debugging mode. 1.24 gb prior to switch - 1 hour initial time shown. After the switch - 8 1/2 minutes initial time. Actual time was just under 4 minutes.

Sorry if that was posted before. I was on page one of seven when I hit the reply button...

My wife has this problem. She is on her 3rd Nexus. Speech to text works fin the first time it is used but next time it is "server problem." We have tried rebooting and factory data reset to no avail. Verizon tech service hasn't been able to solve it either. My own Nexus, purchased just a few weeks earlier works perfectly. Both phones running Android 4.02.

Just wanted to stop in and mention the issues I am consistently having with my GN:

    1. Sometimes if I turn the screen off when the camera is on, the camera will be frozen when I turn the screen back on. It won't respond if I close/open the camera app and I have to restart the phone to get the camera to work again. Very bad bug that causes me to miss photo opportunities.

    2. Google Music will sometimes have clicks in the audio when the screen is off. I believe this only happens with mp3s made from 48kHz wav/aiff files. It makes them unlistenable.

    3. Sometimes clicking an app icon will open a most recently used app, not the app it's supposed to open. For example, I click Google Music, and GTasks opens. It will continue doing that until I restart the phone.

Here's the only issue I'm having with my SGN, and it's one that quite frankly I don't care about 99% of the time. However, the 1% I do want it, it's very fustrating:

Nothing I do on facebook mobile works. Can't upload pictures. Can't update status. Can't "check in". Can't do anything. The only thing I can do is get past the log in screen. Whenever I scroll through the timeline thingy, it freezes and gives me "Unfortunately, Facebook has stopped working."

Anyone else had this? It sounds like nobody has. Could it be my phone? This one stupid feature is really making me mad...

Wow, same with me as well. My wife just returned her third phone purchased through Amazon Wireless. All three immediately returned "server problem" when trying to perform a voice search or text. My nexus, bought a few months ago works perfectly. We are hoping to get a different batch from Costco and that it will work.

Changing the language to UK English did fix the problem, but then when voice texting, it will spell in British English (like colour instead of color) which my wife was not too fond of :)

I had the same exact problem. Google Music icon in app drawer and widget would not work most of the time. Clicking either opened up the previous app. I added shortcuts to my playlists on my home screen to avoid having to open the app itself and that works fine for me.

I am struggling with the brightness issues, I have the maximum brightness but the screen look s very dull, the photo snaps also look very dull. i have also checked the same with Nexus Prime and S but the issue is the same, but the same photo taken on a Nokia Lumia looks very impressive and beautiful.
Why is the dullness consistent in all the Samsung phones, is the gorilla screen a big issue or is it the OS supports only that level of brightness ?

For me, the biggest shortcoming of ICS is the inability to handle standard meeting requests in the gmail app. I'm on ICS 4.0.4 and all of my other problems have been solved. Not being able to use native gmail app to accept a meeting request sent from Microsoft Outlook is a real shortcoming.

I'm having a problem with 3-way calling which renders it virtually useless. When you are on a call and then add a third party to the call it is very difficult for the original two callers to hear the third. Unless the third party speaks very loudly their voice will be "squelched" out. In other words it completely cuts out until they raise their voice and keep it at a high level through out the entire call.

    Anyone else experiencing this?

My wife got a Galaxy Nexus at the end of December and it's recently started having an annoying issue during voice calls. I just finished reading through the thread to make sure no one mentioned it already and I didn't see anything, though I've seen mention in other forums around the web.

Basically, on outgoing or incoming calls, there are a lot of crackling, popping and screeching noises, making it difficult, if not impossible, to hear the other person. She seems to have less on her end than the other caller does, as she's able to understand well enough what's being said. I just confirmed that with a test and she only gets what sounds like highly-compressed audio, like Skype gets sometimes, while I get crackling, popping and screeching completely covering her voice up.

This does not seem to be related to the charger being plugged in or not, and she doesn't use headphones with her phone. It also doesn't matter if it's speakerphone or not. It's also random; not always there and not always at full strength.

I recommended to her that she take it to Verizon, but that'll have to wait a day or so.

SOLD this thing off....it sucks worse than anyone!

Nexus sucks and sluggish! Nexus is just too pure of an Android ICS! It's not user friendly at all. A lot of functions are missing compared to Motorola, Samsung, HTC's Android powered phone.

Furthermore, most of the Android Market's apps are not compartible with ICS yet and they don't work with the pure ICS on Nexus! For example, TouchPal keyboard screwed up big time on Nexus!

I got a Nexus for a week and was so frustrated that even a basic function likes Group SMS isn't there for stock Messge.app. So, I sold my Nexus after a week while the price is still hot before everyone started dumping their Nexus and flood the market with disappointing Nexus which would lower the resale price!

Nexus is for developers. It's not for ordinary folks on the street.

At the end, I got myself a HTC phone, my 3rd HTC models, and got my girl friend the Samsung Galaxy Note.

Is that wood paneling on the walls? Sounds like you need a phone from the '70s.

Most are not compatible? Probably... However, I would say 99% of apps that have issued updates since the release of the Nexus are compatible... so that includes pretty large chunk of the market, and more realistically - the best apps and most frequently used ones are compatible.

This isn't true, I just did a group sms from my phone the other day.

Yeah... It's been out for over 3 months now, so I would say congrats on your resale, but it's not exactly like you were striking the iron while it was hot... more like lukewarm.
