Lack of multi-touch keyboard, frustrating!

I'm sure there is a learning curve to the HTC/Android keyboard. I have an iPod Touch so I feel I have some bad habits to break.

While typing fast I find I often miss the space key, (I hit the space but it does not register.) Upon closer examination I realized it has everything to do with lack of multi-touch. If my left thumb is not off the last key fast enough the space bar will not be registered with my right. (if that makes sense.)

I'm definitely loving the extra space and I feel like I'm just one hang-up away from being a very fast typer.

    Thoughts?

Is that what's going it? Argh. No wonder I've been noticing some very strange results when typing fast.

Very frustrating coming from a device that did had a multitouch keyboard, I aagree. If you were never used to it, you wouldn't miss it though. I doubt you would even realize it...

Swype is absolutely insane! I actually enjoy texting now... LOL

If you would rather have another type of app. try Better Keyboard. It's a lot more efficient then the HTC one. :)

Swype seems really... alien. From the videos I've seen it looks like you type with one finger? I tried installing it earlier but didn't have the right rom. Was planning to give it another try later.

Smart Keyboard Pro is the only keyboard I use. Multitouch, skinnable, very responsible, voice to text, everything. Best purchase in the marketplace.

swype is awesome for anyone that has not tried this yet "Its a Must". Its fun to type using swype and i can type amazingly fast, faster then the stock keyboard. I would recommend atleast trying it.

Swype. There is a learning curve so plan on devoting a week to it. Once you get used to it you can type out done really long responses quickly and accurately.

  19. Just tried out swype on the evo and it's pretty damn cool. Also got the smart keyboard(free version) and it works very well also, thinking about getting the pro version so i can have the autocorrect working with it

I use the built in voice to text feature to text message and wow! I can text super duper fast and accurate without even touching my phone.

You have to register on their website for it but the beta is closed right now, download shapewriter instead at the marketplace

I'm new here, so I'm not entirely sure if it's OK to post this, but if you search Google for Swype for the Incredible, you will find an Evo-compatible package with instructions on how to install.

Any multi-touch keyboards that aren't these gesture-based keyboards?
