Without changing my launcher (I like the stock Moto launcher), is there any way to get my Razr screen to have a landscape orientation when holding it in landscape position?

As it is, most apps will switch to landscape automatically. Just not the homescreen.

It works in that mode when the phone is in a dock, so maybe there's a way to trick it into thinking it's docked?

Good point. Maybe someone will develop an app based on that. I could suggest it at developers forum I suppose.

I downloaded a $1.49 app called Orientation Control, just to try it. It WILL successfully put the homescreen in landscape. BUT, it locks it there. I have not found any setting yet that will simply auto-rotate to landscape in the homescreen.

more than likely for a Dev to make a mod to have it do that that naturally it would probably require Root.

On my DX that is how it was. A lot of mods were out to give you 270 degree rotation actually but you had to be rooted.
