Help Launcher Pro problem

In Sense, the Messages app would update and put a number on the icon when you had a new text message. It doesn't do this in LauncherPro and it really bugs me. Is there something I'm doing wrong or is there an app I can replace it with? I tried Handscent and it doesnt seem to do that. I hate how Handscent looks anyhow...

You can make handcent look awesome.

As for your problem, look through your widgets. The icons that have a number next to them are usually not a program, but a widget. Try deleting the icon from your home screen, and then adding a new widget, and see if you can find it there. I know handcent comes with one, but I'm not sure about the stock app.
