    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone would recommend trying Action Launcher over Nova.

I've used Nova for a few years now but read some good things about Action.

If I was to change to Action, would you recommend version 2 or 3?

Have you been using Nova Launcher or Nova Launcher Prime?

Not tried Action Launcher 3, but I did purchase the full version of Action Launcher 2. It was a nice idea, but I found it full of bugs which didn't get fixed. I raised a couple of support tickets, but they only responses I received were automated, letting my know my issue had been logged and given a reference number.

I know other members have had better experiences, but based on mine, it's unlikely I'll fork out for any of that particular devs apps again.

I think @codesplice uses it (or is at least a fan), so he might be able to help.

I've played with al3 and I quite like it... Not quite as much as nova... But if nova Launcher stopped support... Or if they turned evil tomorrow, then al3 is definitely my plan b

Yep, I use and love AL3. I've tried a bunch of different launchers, but I keep coming back to AL. I recently thought I could switch to ASAP Launcher... but that only lasted about a week.

Nova is likely to be the clear winner if you're going for a hugely customizable setup with complicated screen elements and the like, but you can't go wrong with Action for a launcher that's a breeze to use and is loaded with thoughtful features.

I've found that I really struggle to function without Covers (folders collapsed behind a single icon - tap to launch the displayed app, swipe to open the folder), Shutters (on-demand widgets which hide behind their app's icon when not in use), and the super-convenient Quick Drawer for rapidly scrolling through my app list.

I also enjoy the way that AL's theme can automatically adjust to match the colors in your wallpaper. I cycle through backgrounds pretty regularly thanks to the Backdrops app, and AL automatically updates the color scheme to match.

If you're in the market for AL, definitely go for the 3 version. It's a complete rebuild from the ground up, and it's the only one that is still getting new features on a somewhat-regular basis.

Adw has been resurrected and the beta is pretty great. Folders, widgets (adw widgets), and the app drawer adjust colors based on your wallpapers. It is very customizable and fun. It's still in beta and has some bugs but keep an eye out for the stable release. You may find you like it.

What's annoying is that reading this makes me want to give AL3 a go. :p
