Are you using a Task Killer to kill any running apps?

Launcher pro is fast and snappy here too.. I don't use any animated bg's though.

As a side note, I love this phone!

Definately helped me that's for sure. Made a huge difference.

I regularly killed running tasks and had removed ALL widgets and Touch Wiz still gave me the stall/lag issues.

I do have task killer installed. Is that a known cause?

Is there an online manual available anywhere?

Not a cause, just making sure you didn't have a ton of apps running in the background slowing things down.

Not at all. Seems like it could have been a sync issue or even a sd card issue.

Install it, hit the Home button, and it will ask if you want to use TWLauncher or LauncherPro. Select LauncherPro.

Fast for me too. Go into Preferences, tinker with the scroll and opening speeds, and the memory usage.

And I damn sure don't miss the side scrolling, the TW widgets, and the goofy drawer launcher on the right thing. Having enough trouble as it is getting used to the mixed-up capacitive buttons on the thing, coming from a Milestone...Menu, Home and Back are all in different positions.

How do I access the stock widgets while running LauncherPro?

You can't, those are strictly for the TouchWhiz UI. I haven't had a chance to look yet, but I am almost positive there are alternatives to the TouchWhiz widgets that you can download.

I had to laugh while watching the video Duck Tales posted, while showing off how to change the launcher icons in Launcher Pro the guy accidentally deleted his Phone icon. :p

Ok so downloaded Launcher pro from the android market, it did change my home screen, but I do not see the HTC sense ui clock or anything else. How can I get the Sense UI clock/weather widget?

You can't unless you are running Sense on the phone. You can get other apps that are similar. I'm using beautiful widgets.

I am using fancy widget, which looks almost exactly like the sense clock with a location based weather overlay.

Once you decide to use launcher pro that mean you don't want to use the UI that came on the phone including their widgets. Find some widgets in the market that do the same thing or go back to the original UI.

How do I change launchers once I set one to default. Can't figure out how to get the original Touchwiz launcher back.

Settings -> Applications -> Manage applications -> LauncherPro -> launch by default -> Clear defaults
