OK now I really have done it!!

After destroying my camera flash with with some app i managed to destroy also my LCD screen. I forgot to take my phone out my back pocket and sat down. Now the phone has a black spot in the middle for the LCD screen.

Do you think I should send it HTC service for warranty and let them replace the screen (guess it will be expensive) or should I replace it by myself?

If you send it to HTC then yes it will be expensive but your warranty should remain intact for future problems including the new screen. if you do it yourself you void warranty and if the screen you fit is Dodgy, its not. covered

good news everybody. The black spot disappeared by itself after some days.
I didn't know the desire has self-healing functionalities;)
