Can I use any type/brand of sd memory card with this tablet, any universal one?
You can, but the cheap no-name ones aren't as much of a bargain as the price would lead you to believe. (For instance, some "32GB" cards really only have 16GB - or even less.)
And they could be reclaimed (used), meaning that they won't last as long. (SD cards have a long life, but it is limited, not infinite.)
You should get a Class 10 card. The higher the class number, the faster the card, and 10 is about as high as they go now (except for an experiment with some faster cards).
I always use San Disk. They're high quality, and if there's a problem, they're a good company to work with. If it's their fault, they'll replace the card, they won't haggle over $30.
And don't use a larger card (in GB) than your phone takes. If it says 32GB maximum and you use a 64GB card, you can have problems. It won't damage anything, but it may not work, so instead of twice the storage you'll have no storage.
