i assume since theres a bootloader unlock here thats a normal twrp right? On mine I never unlocked the bootloader and the twrp is bumped, I got it here somewhere i believe. So I also assuming I need to make sure I dont flash the bumped twrp copy i got if i unlock the BL, or does it matter? just curious. Ive never unlocked a BL so doing it for the hell of it and i saw where it said it removes download mode so can the kdz be flashed some other way without breaking it dowm in in twrp using that other kdz? Reason(s) I ask is because first I have an ancient samdung that absolutly refuses to connect in download mode only, but connects in the stock recovery and everywhere else normally and adb talks to it fine then. In DL mode i get "unrecognized device, device failed enumeration" error. Ive tried every driver remedy and odd stuff even a pc reset but no dice. Jus wanna flash a rooted mod rom but odin cant see it. And second, on this phone would it be any different or better to unlock the BL or just use the bumped Twrp. Is there a way to kdz without DL easily basically hence the related samdung question lol. Also there is root for pp2 ive done it several times just using kingroot and then supersume to swap in supersu. It worked before the pp2 update and after just fine I can confirm at least that much if someone is not wanting to use a pc and unlock etc..lol xposed runs perfect too. Thanks for your time with this one, kills some boredom for me

If you can get into download mode and flash that kdz you're good as gold, but if you're not able to get anything accept the lil battery animation when you plug the charger in (maybe withput that either just completely dead), you might be in the qhsusb_bulk super hard brick and as long as its the 9008 mode it can be fixed but good luck finding all the right directions and files in one place then getting your pc to recognize it and the qualcomm drivers.. I still have an ms323 stuck in that mode that I've said screw this on lol. For some reason no one will give actual complete detailed instructions in perfect english that I can find anywhere. I'd like to fix it just to do it and it was the phone that popped my rom cherry, but I stay busy with a Verizon G3 i lucked up on for now.

Silly question but how do you download the stock KDZ? i clicked the link and a bunch of randomness and symbols came up.
Which browser are you using? There are some having issues with chrome. The 1st link is working with Firefox and my phone (running Lightning). The original lg link referenced appears to be dead at the moment.

So, am I correct in inferring from this that the only way to flash a ROM to your LGVS450PP is with the LG Flash Tool, which is only available for Windows, ergo you can only flash this phone if you're using Windows?

I'm running LXLE/Ubuntu Linux and have been trying for the last week to find a way to install the D/D stock ROM with no success at all.

For a complete restore to full stock with the .kdz file, yes. To just install a ROM, you only need to root and install a custom recovery. The only reason to flash a kdz is if you soft brick and can only get into download mode.

Reviving an old thread here, but my thanks as well for putting this together. Had just been sifting through a bunch of threads before finding this.

Previously I had just rooted them to use link2sd. Wondering what people have managed to do with the unlocking and diff roms, I think I saw a thread with someone working on a debloated ROM?

Had picked up two of these last fall when BB was practically giving them away. Kids using as wifi devices for the most part. I did attempt to activate one with an mvno after sort-of-activating then waiting the vzw 6month waiting period, but then the prepaid activation somehow screwed up the phone when I tried to move to a diff carrier. Was able to get free mobile data on the 2nd phone for a few months (vzw started their "always on data" thing while still allowing you to "pay later" during activation, but they just closed that loophole).

Has anyone managed to rip out the Phone Activation app vzw stuck in there to intercept a normal *228? Or otherwise activated one of these not through vzw after the 6months are up? Currently any *228 number (*228xx also) triggers the phone activation wizard which only let's you place a *228 or a *22891. The mvno wanted me to try a *22898 (or 96??) When I had activation trouble but the phone wouldn't let me.

Realize these things are kinda old news but they'd still make great cheap mvno phones for the kids if here was a non-$45/mo option :)

For a slightly different path, you might replace the mainboard with one from a ls620(boost). Involves removing back of vs450pp phone, replacing the board and remaking all connections. The phones are nearly identical, the removed front camera on Verizon phone the only difference I've seen.
The boards are relatively cheap, can be found for $11 or cheaper if buying multiples from ebay.
They work well on ring plus.

Hey guys. I am stuck with a Secure booting error: boot certification verify

I've tried going into download mode, but I still get the boot certification error. When I am connected to my PC, I get a bunch of disks detected, with the first one showing an Image and verinfo directory.

The flash tool doesn't detect the phone. I have succesfully loaded LG drivers for my G4 and haven't tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Does anyone think that might fix the issue? Should there be something on the screen while in download mode? After I get the boot verification error, the screen goes black (but with backlight lit).

Here's a google doc with screenshots:

I found a video of how to fix this on another phone (LG G2 lite) where you could not enter download mode, but it involved shorting some connections while booting up with the back of the phone off. I don't see any connections to short on mine though.

Any ideas? Is this a total brick?

BTW this phone was working fine until I moved and had it off for about 2 months. Now it won't boot back up. I have another identical phone that works fine. Also, this phone was repaired back in Sept, but is now out of warranty. I think the flash memory was replaced. Or maybe they just reflashed it and hoped it would last a bit longer?
