LG G3 Tips & Tricks

I can only lock/unlock screen on the home page or lock screen? Is it possible to do it when a app is open ?

Yes, IF you are rooted. Using the Xposed framework, and the Xposed module G3TweaksBox, you can set it up so a double tap on the nav bar will turn off the screen.

Note that Xposed only runs under Dalvik, and not ART. Lollipop only supports ART. So once we get the upgrade to Lollipop this option goes away. Xposed MAY be rewritten to support Lollipop, but right now that's uncertain.

Overall I'm quite happy with my G3 but for two unfulfilled preferences. I'd really like a 1080p display, and in the 5.7" to 6.0" size range. A nice 5.5" as it is, the 5.7" of my Note 3 reminds me of how each tenth of an inch really matters. Spoiled at 5.7, I now have a burning desire for a 6.0" size.

Well, there's always the Nexus.

But I'm exactly the opposite. The G3 is the biggest (physically) phone I have any interest in. If someone figures out how to fit a 6" screen in a G3-sized chassis, I'm there, but have no interest in the current Notes, Nexus, or any other phone bigger than this one.

Both are very good. Each probably does a few things the other doesn't. Both are better than the stock launcher, IMHO, and neither bombards you with ads like Go Launcher does.

I've used Nova in the past, but don't need it on my G2, and won't need it when i get my G3. Stock launcher works fine, and the Now launcher, while good on my N5, doesn't look good on my G2. It makes the icons too big, as i like five in a row, not four.:p
