To install the battery take a finger nail file and jam it into the small USB port at the bottom of the phone and pry it open. Some people with more talent can simply pinch the sides and get the phone to open.
Also, tapping the phone symbol when receiving a call does not answer the phone. You need to tap the incoming phone number itself!
