My friend's LG phone is not hooking up right with the G Boom bluetooth speaker. They can be connected but the sound is almost nonexistent. It actually sounds louder through the phone than with the speaker. When I hook up my S5 it works great except it can be a little tricky connecting it. It started not working with the LG X Charge about a month ago when the G Boom went unplugged for maybe a day or 2. We were wondering if maybe some malware got downloaded and had something to do with it. In the apps list the only thing I could find that might be was this wifi booster. I did a screenshot of his phone and will include it if I can.

Just make sure your MEDIA volume on the device is at maximum. Make sure your volume on the Speaker is set to a good listening volume so you don't blow the speaker. Wifi has NOTHING to do with BLUETOOTH.
Install a volume controller from the play store that has separate volumes for all output levels...

We had them both all the way up for a while. We tried delinking and relinking, shutting off the phone entirely and then on, but nothing worked. It's gotta be the phone because it works fine with my S5. By the way, when I checked wifi booster, it said it was downloaded from the play store, but that didn't show it. Could there be some sneaky way they're hiding it? Does it have anything to do with those annoying ads?

I just checked some of what's available and have found some from Darken and Magdelphi. These seem to be mainly about semipermanently setting volume for different Bluetooth devices and/or checking battery level. That's great, but I'm not sure it would do anything about making the G Boom play nicely with the LG, which it ueed to do.

Would it help to use a volume booster? I also found some of those but I have no idea which if any would be useful. By the way, I didn't mean that wifi and Bluetooth would be likely to interfere with each other. What I'm wondering is whether this particular wifi booster app could be some kind of malware or otherwise bad. God help us all if it's from cheetah.

There's another problem with the X Charge. It's not charging. I checked all the connections: phone to cord, cord to wall wart, there to wall. Then I took out the cord and saw maybe a little gunk on the tip. I cleaned that off and sprayed compressed air in the port. I guess it's still not charging. I wonder if the tip might be bent just a bit. Would that do it? Is it possible to unbend it, and how? I also tried just a plain regular Android charge cord but that didn't work. The X Charge has a very strong battery that (usually) charges quickly and apparently it doesn't work with just any cord.

Now I find out the LG might have gotten wet. It's in a case from Cricket. How do I remove the case? Is the battery removable?

I got the case off it but I don't know how to open the phone itself. I guess that thing about putting the parts in rice would work but not if I can't remove them. What's next?
