Limit (but not stop) an app's background usage?

Galaxy S22, Not rooted.

hi. I have an app that runs in the background on BLE, and requires about 5 hours a day in order to be effective. If I let it run constantly it drains my battery hard. Is there a way or an app that will let me limit the amount of background usage for the app without just denying it? Much appreciated! In case you're wondering, the app monitors my pacemaker. Thanks fir ideas or solutions!
