Line shuffling to avoid losing unliminted....does it work?

I have 2 lines on our Verizon account:

Wife has 1GB data plan
I have unlimited data.

We share 700 minutes and pay for a 1000 text plan each ($10/pp).

We are both eligible for upgrades.

Can I upgrade her line then switch the phone to my line. Then switch the upgrade to her line and upgrade her line. Without upgrading my line, I keep the unlimited plan. Right?

You can do the first part, but you can never use the upgrade on your line, even if you switch it to another, and keep unlimited.

You can use her upgrade to upgrade your phone and keep your unlimited data. This will reset her upgrade date and start a new contract for her. AKA Buddy Upgrade

She won't be able to use your upgrade and allow you to keep Unlimited though.

As long as you activate the new phone on her line, then transfer the phone to your line, you should be good. Did this about two weeks ago.
