SanDisk announced a 128GB MicroSDXC card ($200) that is currently on sale at Amazon for $119. We know it will eventually work with the Galaxy S5, but an Official List of Supported devices does not exist. So we're creating an unofficial list to help AF users eager to jump on the deal.

SanDisk has a compatibility tool that we combed through, and below is a list of every single device that SanDisk currently claims is compatible with their 128GB MicroSDXC Card based on their tool.

We'll keep this list of compatible phones, tablets, and other devices up to date as AF users report back with their experience/knowledge. BUY/USE at your own risk!

I see this list has Samsung Galaxys4 (i9505). As per the phone spec, it supposed to support external memory card of 64GB only. Then how it can support 128gb as per this post. Can anyone clarify on this. Even the same should applicable for most of other devices which are released before 2013, which have only support upto 32gb only.

at the time, they were most likely the largest cards available. Theoretically the phones should support any larger card using the same SD standard, but obviously the only way to know for sure is to try.

I don't see the droid 4 listed, but the droid 2 is? That doesn't seem right. Anyone know?

I contacted Sandisk about this very question:

On your website, you list the new 128 GB microSDXC card as compatible with the Motorola Droid 2, but not the Droid 4. I don't understand how this could be? I have a Droid 4 with a 64 GB SanDisk microSDXC installed and it works fine. So, what's the story? I really need to upgrade to the 128 GB on my phone. Please advise. Thanks, James

...and received the following response this morning:

    Dear James,

Thanks for contacting SanDisk Technical Support. It is our goal to make sure you have all the resources you need to get the most from your product.

Please allow us to inform you that 128GB microSD cards are built to conform to the microSDXC standard and since your phone is currently working with a 64GB microSDXC card we see no reason why the 128GB microSDXC will not work; however we have not tested it so can't guarantee one way or the other.

We remain at your service for any additional information or assistance.

They don't list the Evo 4G LTE and it looks like they mashed it in with the the Evo 3D as a number of tools confuse the two.

No surprises here. I just wanted to confirm that the SanDisk 128GB MicroSD works in both the HTC Evo 4G LTE and the HTC Evo 3D
    Showing 119GB of free space

Best Buy(web) price matched Amazon.com and accepted my rewards $$. It brought the price down to a much more reasonable $99, and delivered before Amazon could even think about processing my order (now cancelled).
Until recently that is the price Best Buy has still been charging (regular price, not sale) for the 64GB model and long term speaking will likely be the price the 128GB eventually drops to and holds steady at for a long time.

Verified genuine product by SanDisk online chat representative.

    Thanks for the info.
Sounds promising that it should work. Only question is did you have to format to FAT32 on the 64gb card or is it formatted to whatever these big cards take natively?

The 128gb card arrives formatted exFAT. My HTC Rezound would not recognize it. I used the utility GUIFORMAT to reformat it FAT32 with 32768 allocation unit size (the format is running now --- I didn't want to quickformat it). I believe, based on things I have read elsewhere, that it will be readable in my phone, just as my 64gb was similarly formatted. If there's any change; I'll update.

UPDATE: Guiformat worked fine and my Rezound sees 119g free on the card.

I tried the 128GB sd card in my phone and it didn't work... but I found a youtube video that explained how get most Android phones to read the 128GB sd card...

I'm new here, created this account because I wanted to share the news, so I can't post links yet... but its titled:

How to get 64GB (or 128GB) Micro SD to work on all Android devices (Galaxy Note, S2, Canvas HD...)

    Good luck!
