I have an iPhone 3GS and its a good phone but i am tired of it. I would like to get and Android phone and still be on att. I know that rogers has the same bands as att, so 3g will work. Is there a processor difference between the magic and the dream? Where can i get an unlocked rogers phone from?

    Thanks in advance

If you check this post and thread .... you will see that ATT doesn't have an Android yet and is not expected to until probably the 1st Qtr of 2010

he's planning on getting the phone from rogers and switching the sim card to make it work.
if they aren't gsm, their phones won't support sim cards

there is a processor difference, but the g1 works pretty nicely even with it's now outdated processor.
also, you can get better performance out of it by overclocking (there is an app for this, but you need to root you phone).

the best I can tell you is that you can get the phone on ebay.

also: if you plan to keep at&t, make sure the phone you get is a gsm phone.
both the g1 and the mytouch are gsm

Not meaning to highjack thread, but ...

A friend of mine has the Droid. We compared web browsing and app downloading each on 3G. My G1 was just as fast if not faster sometimes. I know the network has something to do with it, but it did make me feel better about my antique phone.

    well yes,
just because the phone is old doesn't make it garbage.
    the phone still works great.
although it has less storage space to store apps, but there's a decent amount of space.
and less memory so you can have too many apps running at the same time, but thats not really an issue for most users
