Location setting question:

First of all, sorry for the shoddy image quality (taken with old cellphone cam)

Location & Security Settings --> Use wireless networks (location determined by wifi and or mobile networks)

Does this feature use up resources and/or battery? Anyone know?

I believe it uses SkyHook: SKYHOOK Wireless: How It Works > Overview

I figure it is only gonna drain battery if your wifi is on and active. When the phone screen is off it normally turns off wifi. There is a setting somwhere about that.

if you have wifi turned off it's only going to use your cell site towers as location... that uses less battery than gps....

turning that option off, will only use gps(if it's on), which is sure to use more battery life. ect ect..
