I just got my G4 today, but I can't figure out why my lock screen shortcuts won't automatically launch when I push them. I still have to swipe the screen to unlock. Can anyone help? Also I would love to make the clock bigger on my lock screen. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

There is no way to change the size of the clock unfortunately, sorry!

I've not ran the stock ROM for a while, but from memory, the lock screen shortcuts need to be swiped/dragged too, just pressing the icon won't work. :)

There's a way to make the clock bigger using Root Explorer. I watched some guy from another country do it on youtube, but he was talking so fast and in a foreign language, I couldn't tell how he did it. So it's annoying me to no end knowing it can be done, but just not figuring out how, lol.

If you need root explorer, you'll need to be rooted.

Which version of the G4 do you have? Root isn't overly obtainable on all variants.

I agree with El Presidente with their observations because neither of my lock screen icon short cuts work just by pressing them, they all have to be swiped on all my android devices.

I must disagree on rooting your device just to make an icon work, take this advice from someone that has bricked an undescribable amount of devices and lost a few thousand dollars to replace themall. But if you decide to root your device I wouldn't recommend rooting your primary device until you get all the information about your and how it accepts rooting applications. And even if you get the information about your device there can still be small variations from device from device that can still cause a incompatibility with rooting applications.

Have you any experience of the G4? It's a very specific, clear process and can't be done using a one size fits all application. if you follow the process exactly, the risk of bricking is minimal.

The fact that small variations between devices exists is an excellent example of why stuff like Kingoroot/iroot etc are generally a bad idea. Your experiences are testament to that.

    That's for another topic though.

OP, if you long press the clock, you swipe between different clock faces apparently. Have you tried that?
