Help Lock screen

I am having difficulty with my son's lock screen on his nexus 7. When you try to unlock it, it stutters then goes back to lock screen, it never unlocks. He had a 16 gb, took back and got a 32 gb. It's doing the same thing, Anyone else?

So you can't unlock it? Any launcher installed? What kind of unlock do you have? Slide, pattern, etc...

No launcher it's my 9 year old's tablet. It is a slide unlock that comes installed already, factory reset and took all apps off that he downloaded. Still does it. Took slide unlock pattern.to no unlock, the the screen just s blank instead of being able to un lock it. Second device that has done this in 1 day. I need help, my son is getting very unhappy as well as myself.

That's definitely very odd. I don't get how that can be happening on two tablets. I wouldn't even know where to begin if you can't even get into the device

Is it in any type of case with a magnet?

I can get into the device, but it takes several attempts or I have to turn off then back on to get it to open, it is in a case, not sure about magnet though, I will look into that. I know it's strange one.16 gb one 32gb and they are doing the same.thing.

I would go back to where you bought it and have them show me how to do it. But normally it works perfectly if you swipe the lock to right outside in portrait view.

I am very familiar with lock slides and all other things normally, I am going to have him try it without the case on it. I didn't see a magnet in the case but it's worth a try
