Try Dell - that sounds like a pretty standard spec that I'm sure they'll do for a reasonable price .. and you won't have to leave the house :D

Sound like you should get a Alienware or Custom Built.

Everything except the 1GB graphics memory is standard.

But Laptops in general tend to lack good GPU specs.

If you plan to use the laptop for gaming,
you should be sure to get a laptop with a dedicated GPU.

Laptops are great but I wouldn't use one as my main computer.

My friend's son received an $1800 Mac laptop for his birthday a year or two ago and recently spilled water on it, killing it. I've spilled plenty of stuff on keyboards over the years and was able to replace them for $5-$10 each.

I'd get a cheap laptop. Plenty are available for under $400.

I already have a great desktop I build I'm just looking for a laptop for college and that is the requitments. Why a 1gb video card idk but I'm going to assume the that is a little overboard. My desktop have a HD 7850 1gb model. Only thing you would need more that 1gb is resolutions over 1920 x 1080.

One of the reasons I suggested Dell is they often have the option of adding a reasonable graphics card to lower-end lappies.

As for desktop v laptop, I haven't had a desktop since I bought my first laptop in the early 90s. They're just so much more convenient.

Certainly, lappies are easier to kill than desktops, but so far (touchwood etc etc), I haven't killed a laptop in around 20 years of ownership. Also, these days if you compare the cost of getting a desktop plus screen with the cost of a laptop, there's really not that much difference. OK, the desktop will probably be slightly higher spec'd, but unless you're into CAD or the very latest games, pretty much ANY computer is powerful enough these days.

I had a CyberPower PC. It was a great computer, lasted for 2 years which is the average lifespan for a computer. But it was good and custom for me.

Could go with a dell xps 12. My friend has one and loves it.

I think XPS as well, they've always been great performance machines. They're very similar to Dell's Alienware line, but without the price premium and IMO fugly enclosures, theming, branding and light shows.

Of course all the XPSs and Alienwares are made in China and Poland these days...
