I currently have a samsung note 3 and a broken note 4. Looking for a newer phone thats as good as these feature wise but with more ram and faster processor. must work on verizon or be cdma unlocked, must have micro sd card, must have headphone jack, must have android 6.01 or older or have another method to use hotspot without paying the carrier for the features. currently im on old verizon unlimited data plan without hotspot but I use an app called FoxFi but it says it doesnt work past android 6.01. Would like IR blaster if possible but i havent heard of any newer phones that have it, looking for suggestions, thanks!

    What is your budget?

Practically any new phone you would buy today will have better RAM and CPU, and Android 6 or 7 are the trend.

But it can't do much about your carrier's limitation on Hotspot function as long as you stick with them.

Think you're very much going to be limited to second-hand, and only the few phones that are Verizon CDMA compatible, like say another Galaxy Note4 or an older HTC or Moto Droid. There's NO new phones that have 6.0.1 or older. Even the Note5 was updated to Android 7.x AFAIK.

FYI very few recent phones have an IR Blaster, some Huawei devices still do.

Well if you don't want to go for the latest flagship phones by Samsung then may i suggest Samsung Galaxy c7 Pro. The Galaxy C7 Pro has a smooth body with a metal unibody look, making it a standout among-st the most premium telephones in the market. It has a 5.7-inch show. At its heart, the C7 Pro is fueled by a 2.2 GHz octa-center processor with the Snapdragon 626 chipset. Combined with a 4GB RAM, it makes the telephone very great and ready to deal with substantial applications effortlessly. It keeps running on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, however a refresh to 7.0 is normal soon. The screen is unassuming 5.7-inch and houses a Full HD super AMOLED show. Watching motion pictures in local 1080p goals is an elating background, and the telephone's energetic and bright presentation makes it just all the more fulfilling. The brilliance is very high too, which means you can undoubtedly utilize it outside visible to everyone absent much issue. If not then you can always check any mobile comparison website like gadgetsnow. I found about these mobile comparison websites recently through his article revglue(.)com/blog-detail/13-setup-free-uk-mobile-comparison-website while i was exploring the internet. Anyhow i am using c7 pro like hell for the last 15 months for heavy games movies and such but it wont budge. its a solid mobile but the choice is yours.

I can't remember what phones still have IR Blaster.

The last phone I see the IR was my old HTC M8, unfortunately I lost the phone even before I could test that feature.

Its an ancient tech now and most of the companies wont add IR blaster to their smartphones. Huawei’s P20 Pro seems to be the most advanced phone with an IR Blaster.

Now I see why they discontinued that feature, and it's for a good cause ;)

...or making yourself more comfortable in these places, when it's too hot or cold.

Huawei IR Blaster... :thumbsupdroid: Which I'm pretty sure is probably the only manufacturer still making phones with this useful feature.

Finally some admirer of my fabulous mischief :D
The intend was not malicious but most of the time you have to endure the boring channels while you are eating great meals with your friends and family in a restaurant so i just change it to my liking while enjoying the meals.

The Galaxy S6 was the last Samsung with an IR blaster I think.

This sounds promising, Im gonna check that out more when i get a chance. I generally block updates, as in my experience they make the older phones unusable. thanks.
