Looking for a print-to-file app or plug-in

I use a couple of journaling apps on my tablet that don't have any way of printing out entries or saving them in a text or pdf file. The best that I can do is to share the entries with another app that does have this capability. One such app is Adobe PDF Reader. The problem for me is that, apparently, Adobe Reader must go online to convert to PDF. I don't have a Wi-Fi connection at home and can't use any app that has to connect online.

Are there any apps that will allow me to share an entry with them and will, say, convert it to PDF locally? Basically, what I am looking for here is a print-to-file function.

There must be more than a dozen "Convert to PDF" apps in the Play Store, and I've tried quite a few and none of them will appear in the "Share with" list in my journaling app (except Adobe).

sigh, if we were talking about Windows, I know of two apps right now that I use daily for just that purpose.
they show up as "Printers" and you just select "CutePDF printer" and off you go.

I downloaded an app something like that last month, I will bookmark this thread and come back later...
if I find it , will let you know.

Ok, so I found an app that I can share data to and then I can go to that app and generate a PDF. It's a pain because it's an extra step and there is a change in formatting. If anyone has any other ideas, I'm VERY interested to hear them. Thanks.

you missed out on letting US know what app you found that works for you....

my search did not turn up an app that will accept output from another app.

Oh my gosh, there are a bunch of apps that accept output from other apps. The app that I am now using (as I said, it is less than ideal) is Fiinote which is a great offline note app, but other apps like Evernote accept the output as well. I can even share to ES File Explorer (no idea why). Basically, when I select "Share" I get a menu of programs that accept the output. Adobe Reader accepts the output, but it needs a Wi-Fi connection to convert to PDF.

The thing is, however, when I share to Fiinote, I have to go into Fiinote and format the note as I want it and then save it as a PDF. This is why I say it is not ideal. I'd like to be able to share with a program that converts it to PDF (or RTF) locally and outputs a file without the added step of having to go into the other app and then doing a "save as PDF." I guess it's kind of a petty point, but ideally I'd like to have a "print to file" function.
