looking for an Android app to shrink mp3 files

I am looking for an app that shrink (re-size) mp3 files. I have a lot of files and I would like to re-size them.
I know I may loose some quality, but it is fine. Note: I do not want to trim the audio file.
Can anyone refer to me an app? (Free is preferred)

I'd rather refer you to mp3toringtone Gold for PC. I am not sure Android is capable of what you are asking to some quality.

MP3 files are already compressed. Generally you won't really be able to compressed already compressed files very much further.

Actually you can. An mp3 file with 320kbps can be compressed to 198 or 128kbps, reducing size to almost half. Although yes it will have quality loss, the at those bitrates the loss isn't so bad for non-audiophiles.

Don't do it from an MP3. The loss in quality will be significantly more than if you'd just used the original WAV file to compress to a lower bitrate in the first place.

MP3 is a lossy compressed audio format. If you compress MP3 files again, it must lose quality. If you still want to compress MP3 files and don't watn to lose too much quality, Faasoft's useful MP3 Compressor is a wonderful choice. The only drawback is this tool is not compatible with Android.

So far, I haven't found out a tool that can do this task and also works on Android.

After trying 5 different apps, my winner is MP3 Convert by Android mobiler. its a black disk with the words wav on top and mp3 button and small blue note in the middle. Its faster than others i tried, low advertisment and more kbitrate options
you can find it in in play google store . work perfect in my lg g3. Example: I convert a 51 minutes file at 64kb/s with 23MB size to a new 51 minutes file at 24kb/s to only 8.9MB, this process takes 10 minutes in my lgg3. but allows me to send the entire class record to a classmate by whats app in a good quality for voice for talks. 24kb/s reduce the file size 2.5X times this bit rate is fine for conferences or voice recorded, with headphones loss of quality is less noticiable.

usually audio files are at 128kb/s you can shrink the same file 5.3 Times at 24kb/s. this is usefully for long lasting audio files like 1hour record, very usefully when you record a class or conference, and quality still good for this kind of audio

I don't know of a tool on Android. I use Audacity on the PC. If you convert to a lower quality MP3, you may be able to make the files smaller.
