Setting up a tablet for a 86 year old mother. Looking for stand alone, non-wifi scrabble like and crossword games. I know scrabble is out of the question do to wifi needs. I saw a scrabble like on google that looked good, but can no longer find it.

    thanks
    Mike

    Hi Mike, :)

Are you looking for something that never requires an internet connection? I use (and love) Shortyz Crosswords to get my crossword fix. It requires Internet access to (automatically) download the day's puzzles, but once you puzzles are loaded up you don't need the 'net again until you need more.

mother does not have internet. I load the games that she wants. I DL crossword plus. You need internet to get the puzzles. The app give you locations where to find puzzles. One of the location is NY times. You can load archive puzzles for free. I believe you can DL more than one at a time. She has a 9" Android Tablet that I bought from Ebay on alldaymall.com. I need to get a TF memory card. Then I can test how many I can DL. If I can DL 15 or 20 puzzles that will keep her busy for a couple of weeks.
    thanks

I just looked at Shortyz and it looks like the same location for puzzles. I think I will also load that one.
