I currently have a D1, It was replaced in August (water damage) so 2.5 months old.

My wife wants a phone with easy Calendar entry. I thought an Android phone would be good, as she has a Google email account. So I was going to buy here a LG Ally.. but being lower end I rather give her my D1 and Upgrade :)

She is fine with it if I do that..

So I doubt I will regret going to a DX, but is there any quirks with the phone?

Any of those who went from a D1 to DX have any opinions on the switch..

Yeah, if she did not want a phone for calendar info I would not be looking to upgrade, I like my D1, but don't want to buy her a lower end phone if my droid will work for her.

I had the D1 for 3 days and the DX for 3 months. I certainly never looked back wishing I'd stayed with the D1, although it did seem like a pretty sweet phone in its own right. But the DX will keep you from getting a lot of things done, because you'll just want to play with your DX all day every day.

You can just feel American production crawling to a halt ever since Android phones hit the market!!!

Well, I may end up with the Lg Ally for the wife. End of the Day cost prevails.. $50 vs $200

I see Let's talk has them for $79, but not sure how I could get a X for that.. any ideas

Well, gonna order a Droid X.. been decided and my wife will get my D1 once I get the X and unroot the D1 and set it to stock..
