1. Are you ready for the Galaxy S20? Here is everything we know so far!

Looks like we won't be seeing an official ICS anytime soon...

No biggie, rather they get it right then rush it out.

Nobody's gonna die because they don't get it

For what it's worth, I was running v36 of the oICS ROM (found it in ROM Manager before I unrooted my NS4G) and it worked really well and didn't have any of the issues the official release seems to have (probably because the maker used a different kernel).

If your Nexus is rooted, try the oICS ROM or any of the other community ROMs found at xda. Lots of good ones...and they WORK :)

According to the folks at The Verge (according to *their* sources) it's common practice to roll out the OTA updates in waves.

I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I was wondering if I could take the update for the non 4G Nexus S and apply it to my 4G? The reason I'm wondering is because I have yet to find a ROM that is stable for more than a few days. I could live without the 4G settings because I don't have 4G where I live.

If you want to make a nice thin Black brick then go right ahead... The non 4G Nexus S is NOT a CDMA phone, the GSM radio will brick it for sure

I wouldn't risk installing a ROM meant for the GSM Nexus S onto my NS4G...but that's just me. I found the oICS ROM in ROM Manager (also at XDA) and it was very nice, and has only improved. It is built from the source too.

Thanks for all the advice. Against better judgement (and before jumping back on here to see y'alls replies), I tried to install the GSM version but CWM wouldn't allow me. Something about a checksum error. Anywho, I installed oics 4.3 and so far, it looks promising. Again, thanks for all the info.
