Saw a bunch of threads on another forum and vzw support forums about this issue. Seems there are many users, myself included, that have no data services without wifi. I'm not in a 4G area, so that's not part of the issue. Called vzw and they instructed me to factory reset the phone, which of course I don't want to do since I have it all set up perfectly with my widgets, apps, etc. So, searching around brought me this solution that works. Credit to landale on Android Central forums for this post: Problems with 3G data? Don't hard reset, read this first! - Android Forums It turns off simultaneous voice and data over 3G, something called eHPRD. Following the steps in that post turns off eHPRD and reverts to standard Rev.A CDMA 3G for data. I guess the tbolt is so new, the simultaneous part isn't working so great at the moment. After this procedure, 3G is connected again and working just fine, just not while on a call. 4G is unaffected. Hope this helps, and thanks again to landale!
