Help Lost My Email Notifications

I have the HTC Droid Eris, and I recently lost my email notifications. The app is working fine, and I am getting emails, however, the notification and sound do not work.

I recently downloaded two apps that may have had a cause to this. The Super Task Killer app, and the ChompSMS app for text messaging. I have gone into the stock messaging app and turned off notifications as to avoid doubles with the chomp app. However I turned that back on and tried a test email, with no luck.

Can anyone help me with this? Thanks!

My first suggestion is to get rid of the Super Task Killing app (is that really what it's called?). If you are not going to do that, go into the settings for Super Task Killer and filter out the email app. I suspect that STK is killing the email app in the background, something that you do not want to happen if you want notifications.
