Okay, so my friend tried downgrading from ZVC to ZVB and lost his service. He decided he couldn't wait for me so now I'm trying to figure out how to get it back.

Apparently when he was using LGNPST he ended up using emergency mode and wiped out his phone number and min. Dialing *228 just tells him to call customer service.

My question is this, does the Esteem have a programming menu like the all Metro phones and if it does is it ##626* like the rest.

    ##626* then put 587846.

Dial #. If you are in test mode you may be screwed, Thats how PG got stuck in test mode was using LGNPST. Dont know exactly what he did but he can not get out of it.

Well without the phone in front of me I can only go by what he is telling me which is that it only lets him hit # then a bunch of test options come up.

So I guess I need to tell him to go to metro and play dumb and hope they give him another phone?

I told the guy to wait, but nooooo he just couldn't listen to me.

Yeah sounds like he is in test mode. PG is stuck in test mode. Has been for awhile. Even tried upgrading to C still stuck in test mode. Flashed roms, still stuck. Tried redoing it all in LGNPST and still stuck.

Well I guess he is off to Metro because of his impatience. Maybe I will go over with him and pick one of these puppies up since yesterday was my birthday.

I owe myself a present and it's time to upgrade from my Optimus M anyway.

It's pretty weird though that you can't get it out of that test mode deal. You would think there would be a way.

I just wanted to update everyone on my friends situation. So after screwing around with LGNPST I was able to find a work around if someone is stuck in the LG test menu and cannot get to the normal Metro service programming menu by using ##626*

This is useful if you happen to wipe out your phone number or MIN #

I'm actually off to Metro to buy one of these now that I have had a chance to mess around with his for a bit.

Happy late birthday present to me,lol.

If I'm not too busy I may actually put together a guide for this useful work around.

If anyone does happen to help, PM me here or you can contact me through my Gmail at the bottom of the page.

Its usually sticked at the back of the phones, where the battery rest. So take out the battery out if it is in and you'll see a white sticky with the phone's version.

Also you can check at about phone in settings> about phone> status....
