Well in order to try to clear all the issues from the ICS update I finally did a complete factory reset. Now I do not have a voice search icon.

Is there anything I can do to get this to re-appear on my screen or quick bar?

I have tries everything I can think of but all I get now is the google search bar with the voice icon as an integral part of that bar.

    Thanks guys.

I have the same issue. It shows in settings/applications as being installed, but doesn't show in applications list or on the screen.

The icon was removed from ICS and replaced with long-pressing the Magnifying Glass hard key, you can get it back with an aftermarket app like ICS Voice Search Shortcut or similar app. Note that this is not specific to the Rezound, it is a global change from GB to ICS.

Also, for the keyboard search do you have it enabled as an input device?

Go to Settings -> Language & Keyboard and make sure "Google voice typing" has a tick mark next to it, if it isn't then the keyboard will only show "EN" where the Mic should be

    Thanks folks.

I just pulled this thread back up to say I found the same shortcut that acejavelin suggested. It works well and its free.

In my exploration I also found a few Siri type apps that you may like to try if you already haven't.

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bluetornadosf.smartypants&feature=search_result

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.speaktoit.assistant&feature=related_apps

Each has some advantages and some not so good performance but all are worth taking a look at to see if they may fit your needs or just for fun.

BTW, is it possible to get Gingerbread back? ICS has been a downgrade as far as I'm concerned. Even with a hard reset my battery life still sucks and there are little annoying things now that get in the way. Plus I miss all the little adjustments that are now "automatic".

    Be well everyone!
