I have a Samsung Gem carried by version and i bought it about 3 weeks ago and i was able to put about a gigabyte worth of music via usb and now i can't get my phone to show up on any of my computers i have the settings to show up as mass storage and the notification that usually pops up won't and that is my first problem. My second is i get and error when i open widgets someone posted the same thing and i was hoping that there was a way to avoid a factory reset i spent like a week straight organising my apps and getting new ones and i don't want to go throught that again. My third problem is the phone memory is poor in my standards and on my friends android you can switch some apps to your sd card memory and if there is anyway to do that that would be awesome because a got a 8gb sd card and i have to constantly delete apps i like, and i am constantly fighting for space and i feel like i barely have any apps at all.

    1. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the Samsung Gem drivers.

    2. You can try uninstalling the last few apps you installed, and uninstall any updates to the Market. Someone said that helped them. Otherwise, you're out of options other than a factory install.

    3. Your phone has Android 2.1 on it which does not support Apps2SD. Your friend's phone has Android 2.2 which does. Until Verizon releases 2.2 for this phone, or someone figures out a reliable way to root the Gem so it can be hacked, there isn't a way to implement Apps2SD.

I've been down this road before with the LG Ally. It also only had 2.1 and limited memory. Unfortunately, the Samsung Gem is not currently being looked at by any custom developers, so your choices are going to be extremely limited.

When you connect it to a PC, are you pulling down your notification window and mounting it? The PC won't recognize it unless you mount it to the PC.
